
The suspects namely Abdulahi Mohammed, a 29 year old indigene of Kano state and Bashir Muhammad, 25 years from Borno state were arrested by private security guards providing security for the protesters at their the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) camp.

Abdulahi who was carrying a knife claimed to be a private security guard at Jabi.
According to him, “I am on my way home to Nyanya when our driver ran into the protesters and stopped us at the CBN, he could not proceed further because of the blockage of the road.

While Bashir claimed to have been part of the protest before his eventual arrest for reasons Independent could not immediately assertion.
However, the protests have been generally peaceful apart from that isolated incident.
The energetic youth led protests in Abuja attracted over 2000 protesters, including celebrities like Zaki Azzay, a veteran musical artiste and wave making comedian, Broda Shagi who were at the scene to inspire the youths

The protesters started their peaceful match at the Unity Fountain through Villa Gate where they were blocked by fierce looking police personnel before moving to Sheraton Hotel through NNPC to War Collage before finally camping at the CBN.
Many of the protesters carried placards with various inscription which reads, “If only Buhari was alive,” “Reduce government salary budget,” “We are not here to play,” “Yee, Old man resign,” “Fix Nigeria or we will fix it ourselves.”
