“This is the third tournament to be organised this year. We are happy that the atmosphere is bright today, and the tournament is going on well. Golf is a game of friendship. At the end of the day we are all going to be a winner. In the last Orodje of Okpe Golf Tournament we had over 100 players, and so far we have about 93 golfers that registered for the tournament. This is a good development. It shows we are progressing”, he said.
The Sapele Athletic Club is a legacy bequeathed by the British traders from Elder Dempster and Company Limited, and those from the African Timber and Plywood Company (AT&P) in 1897 before the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914.
