Mrs Betsy Obaseki, the Wife of the Edo State Governor, on Christmas day visited some Hospitals in Benin City, the state capital to present gift items to newborn babies in various wards.


The Edo first lady who was represented by the wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Ejiro Ogie was accompanied on the tour by other dignitaries.


At the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, her Excellency’s representatives were received by the Management of the
Hospital and the Hospital Choir where the team proceeded to the Maternity Ward where gift items were presented to the Christmas babies born to the families
of Mrs Mercy Eromonsele and Esther Erabor.


Receiving the gift items, Mrs Mercy Eromonsele and Esther Erabor, the Christmas Mothers thanked Mrs Obasaki and prayed to God to bless and guide her in her endeavours.


At the Modic Hospital in Ogbe quarters, Benin City, the first lady’s entourage
also presented gift items to Mrs Eunice Daniel who delivered the Christmas baby
at the Hospital around 12:08 am.
Mrs. Obasaki’s entourage took their visit to the Edo Specialist Hospital
where they presented a gift to Mrs Ogbeide Sarah who delivered the Christmas baby at 5:02 am.


They made their last stop for the day at the Benin Central Hospital at the bedside of Mrs Blessing Adidi who delivered
the Christmas baby at 5:24 am.


All the mothers who were visited expressed their appreciation to Her
Excellency for the gesture.
