Recall that on 18th November 2020, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, conferred on Obinna Chineke an award as the outstanding Igbo presenter of the year 2020.

According to Obinna, every English word has an Igbo meaning and this may have accounted for why he translated the world deadliest disease Coronavirus pandemic to mean “Nje Okoro Uwa”.

In his acknowledgment speech, he thanked God Almighty for making it possible, his family, friends and fans for their support and pledged to do more in the area of English to Igbo translation.

Chineke anchors one of the Igbo leading progames on radio, Akwukwoakuko (newspaper review) in Igbo every working day by 7.30am, a programme that draws the attention of millions of Igbo radio listeners.
